m2d fans: expect acoustic renditions of some m2d favorites with the special twist of the strings performing with the band. If you have never seen Anna Dagmar, you are in for a special treat! Here is a bit about each artist performing:

Anna Dagmar is a NYC-based pianist and singer-songwriter, versatile in the worlds of both folk and musical theatre. Her sound has been described as "atmospheric and almost other-worldly yet grounded by intelligent, thought provoking lyrics that are sure to touch your mind and your heart," (Kathy Sands-Boehmer, Me & Thee). A return performer at the Hard Luck Cafe and other FMSH events, Dagmar is a Gold Prize winner in the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Contest and a Kerrville Newfolk Finalist. In 2013 she was selected to join the Tony Award-Winning Advanced BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop. Dagmar has performed in venues including City Winery, Tupelo Hall and Club Passim. Her interest in orchestration began while she was a student at the Eastman School of Music, and tonight she will be performing original songs which she has arranged for piano and strings, accompanied by Jon Preddice's family quartet. This is a new collaboration which began at NERFA. On a joyful and personal note, Dagmar just had her first baby, Eloise, this June.

Come and meet the family you never knew you had. Miles to Dayton’s music happens at a personal level, their message of love blending elements of folk, rock, classical, and funk into an irresistible invitation. The M2D recipe is simple: four-part vocal harmony, clever songwriting, improvisational violin and cello, and an infectious rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew. At the heart of their unique marriage of styles lies a real-life marriage: vocalist Krista Preddice shares the microphone with husband Jonathan Preddice, who, in addition to being the principal songwriter for the group, also shines on guitar, cello, accordion, and trumpet. Bassist Dave March (Krista’s brother) and violinist Leanne Strom (Jon’s sister) add depth to the vocal harmonies, with Dave’s low, soulful bass and Leanne’s soaring classical virtuosity providing the sonic bookends for the band's signature sound. Drummer Brian Kroll, the newest member of the group, propels the music forward with an exciting and funky edge. Miles to Dayton has shared the stage with the likes of the Infamous Stringdusters, Rhett Miller, Larry Campbell and Amy Helm to name a few. Tonight's performance will be a special acoustic lineup of the m2d band, accompanied by the Preddice Family String Quartet.
